Live Here Now's Recipe for Success

Delga has been supplying record sleeves and inner bags, CD wallets, cassette slipcases, and inlays to the music and entertainment industry for over 60 years. Whilst the introduction of digital music has impacted the sales of physical music formats, Delga stayed true to its history and has maintained supply of these products to those who have remained steadfast and been able to pivot in a rapidly changing and evolving industry. Delga still produces a large volume of these items that are distributed in the UK to this day.

In 2022 vinyl record sales outperformed CDs for the first time in 35 years1 and in 2023, vinyl sales have risen by nearly 15 percent in first nine months2. With this recent resurgence in vinyl sales, we spoke to Live Here Now who have been a customer of Delga’s for nearly 20 years. Delga Press produces CD sleeves, record sleeves, and books for Live Here Now who are a live music and label production company, recording live music and selling it to fans at, and after the event. This offers fans the opportunity to take home the live recording of the concert they have just attended in beautiful, limited-edition packaging, less than 10 minutes after the show has ended. Live recordings are not only handed out post show, on the day, but they can also be pressed onto Vinyl and released on their website as limited-edition sets, often with a photo booklet.

We spoke to David, aka Nog, from Live Here Now, about his experience of working with Delga all these years, he opened with:

“All our products are limited editions and each one is special. Because of the collectable nature of the products, high quality print is an essential part of the product and Delga have been key in helping us deliver high end, collectable recordings from the beginning.”

Talking about his relationship with Delga Press and in particular, the relationship he has with Greg and Lisa in our media team he said:

“I have known Greg and Lisa for a long time, and we have a longstanding and very established relationship. If anything goes wrong, for example if I need to resubmit artwork, there’s always someone at the end of the phone to help me fix it really easily, which is key for us. More importantly, if I have one of my weird ideas, Greg can usually help me make it happen!”

Establishing good relationships with our customers is something we really focus on at Delga and Nog summed it up nicely by saying he “doesn’t feel like a small fish in a big pond, all of my print work goes through Delga because I have such a great relationship with you, I know you are a safe pair of hands.”

While chatting we also asked him for his vision of the future for media and entertainment industry, he accepted that whilst there have been challenges in the industry, from the cost of materials and the cost of living rising, the resurgence of vinyl has been a positive one as more people want to own things again.

One thing he’s keen to utilise is Delga’s recent investment in the Scodix digital embellishment machine, as it makes his products, which are all limited editions, stand out.

In summary it’s clear that Delga’s comprehensive knowledge gained from over 60 years in the media and entertainment industry enable us to offer a service that’s efficient and reliable. The continuing investment into equipment and technology enable the evolution of an important part of the music and entertainment industry that is set to stick around, perhaps a little longer than anyone imagined.
